SafeMed is looking for a VP of Marketing to develop and drive the marketing, lead generation strategy, branding and messaging initiatives. As the VP of Marketing you will be a member of the senior management team acting as the primary strategist for developing product- and market-specific marketing plans, creating market requirement documents and driving the strategic planning for all products to maximize sales efforts and leverage revenue-producing opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Create product marketing plans, including positioning, messaging, and pricing
• Drive the product launch process from a communications, operations, internal readiness, milestone, and delivery perspective
• Work with and manage the marketing communications team to create and design customer and channel collateral
• Conduct market research on product positioning, messaging, customer satisfaction, product usage, target markets, and customer segmentation to support recommendations

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required. MBA or other advanced degree is desired
• Minimum of 15 years experience in marketing of products and/or services within the healthcare clinical software environment or similar industry
• Strong strategic vision and team leadership experience
• Excellent project management skills; ability to provide direction and support to others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to drive revenue through creative sales channels and marketing programs
• Creative thinker with the ability to provide both strategic and tactical direction

Our San Diego (Sorrento Valley) headquarters is seeking a Controller, who thrives in a growing, collaborative professional environment. Responsibilities include:

Job Summary:

The Controller will direct and manage the development of accounting practices and the organization’s financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals, and in preparation of an annual audit. Additional responsibilities include management of the budget process, regular internal financial reporting as directed by senior management, supervision of the accounting staff, and maintenance of fiscal records. The Controller has the final responsibility for providing effective financial controls for the organization.

Essential Functions:

1. Maintaining the company's system of accounts and bookkeeping for all company transactions and assets.
2. Overseeing daily operations of the finance department.
3. Completing and presenting Company Financial Statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals.
4. Interpreting accounting information and standards in order to properly present operating results.
5. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
6. Analyzing actual performance against budget, reporting variances and providing management the information needed to make sound business decisions.
7. Evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department to keep the staff at the level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives.
8. Developing proper tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
9. Establishing and implementing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures in conjunction with other departments and consistent with overall Company objectives.
10. Managing insurance coverage for protection of corporate property.
11. Designs and implements systems and internal controls; makes recommendations to management on changes and improvements to systems.
12. Coordinates audits by external independent auditors.
13. Administers stock option programs.
14. Interfaces with outside service providers, including banks, insurance brokers, auditors and attorneys.
15. Tracks capital equipment expenditures by maintaining ledger and ensuring that all purchases are properly tagged.
16. Acts as contracts administrator by maintaining corporate contracts and helping to ensure compliance with them.

Essential Qualifications:

• Command of GAAP
• BA/BS in Accounting CPA preferred
• Strong understanding of financial analysis, account budgeting and forecasting methods
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate and persuade
• Supervisory Experience
• 8+ years of experience in financial management
• Excellent computer skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Join SafeMed’s Server Development Team as a Senior Software Engineer. Be involved in algorithmically challenging and fast paced projects developing C++ based Medical Decision Support Systems. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the full lifecycle development process including understanding business and functional requirements, developing technical designs, and implementing testable solutions. The candidate is expected to be self-motivated, pro-active and a solution-oriented individual.

Job requirements:

• BS degree in computer science or equivalent field plus 5-7 years or MS degree plus 3-5 years experience, or equivalent
• Prior experience with medical database terminology is a plus
• Application development and design experience for XML based applications using object-oriented methodologies
• Strong object oriented design and analysis skills
• Strong C++, familiarity with template classes such as Roguewave tools/STL and SQL language
• Prior experience with UNIX/Linux/MacOS X
• Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short time
• Must have good oral/written communication skills

• Board Certified in an ABMS-recognized medical specialty
• At least 2 years of direct patient care experience
• Advanced degree in engineering, informatics, mathematics, or physics
• Commercial healthcare IT experience desirable
• A valid state medical license
• Research experience/peer-reviewed publications a plus
